Thursford Songs of Praise
One of Norfolk’s biggest Songs of Praise celebrations will once again take place at the famous Thursford Museum near Fakenham on Sunday March 29th starting at 3 pm. Everyone is welcome to this free event.
The main speaker this year will be Rt Revd Jonathan Meyrick, Bishop of Lynn . Other returning favourites will be the Fakenham Town Band, one of the foremost brass bands in East Anglia, and Danny Wakefield, playing the magnificent Mighty Wurlitzer organ. Also performing will be the choir which is formed especially for the occasion by local Methodists.
The event, which has been organized by the Central Norfolk Methodist Circuit, in conjunction with the Thursford Museum, is one of the most popular events in the Norfolk church calendar and usually attracts over a thousand people.
Admission is free, although a collection for charity is taken, with this year’s charity being Shelter
Tickets for the service can be obtained by writing to Stephen Lynn, 34 Manor Drive, Litcham, Kings Lynn, PE32 2NX. Applicants should enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope, A5 size for up to 15 tickets, A4 for larger quantities.
